A complete moving checklist includes: declutter and pack (4-6 weeks before), book movers and transfer utilities (2-4 weeks), pack essentials box and do final walkthrough (moving day), and set up bedroom, kitchen, and change locks (first week). Don't forget to forward your mail and update your address.
Start 6-8 weeks before your move date. Begin with decluttering and donating items you don't need. Book movers 4 weeks out. Start packing non-essentials 2-3 weeks before. Handle utilities and address changes 1-2 weeks before.
Your essentials box should include: phone charger, toiletries, change of clothes, medications, important documents, snacks and water, basic cleaning supplies, toilet paper, trash bags, bed sheets, and a basic tool kit. This box should be the last loaded and first unloaded.
